Kessler |
|
Jeff has been the leading security industry analyst
on Wall Street for 26 years: He began covering ADT, Sensormatic
Electronics, and Checkpoint Systems in 1983 followed by twenty one
years as the senior business services analyst with Lehman
Brothers. Jeff has brought a unique skill set to the security
industry for the financial community – publicizing it, as well as
prodding it to improve its financial profile with investors and its
business profile with large enterprise end users.
Jeff has been publishing the industry’s most highly
regarded “Security Industry Annual” for 15 years and has been a
co-sponsor of the industry’s largest and oldest conference Securing New
Ground which is focused on “the business of security”. Jeff is in good
company as his co-sponsors include Sandra Jones, President of Sandra
Jones and Co. and Mark McCourt, publisher of BNP Communications (SDM
and Security Magazines, and the “Security 500” for end
users). In addition to his high-standing and awards earned in
the financial community in 2006 Jeff was named in the first “Security
Magazine”poll as one of the industry “25 Most Influential Leaders” and
the only representative from the financial services industry in the 25.
Not
only does Jeff cover the market, he has been active in involved in over
80 M&A transactions which include some of the industries most
significant ones including the acquisitions of ADT by Tyco, Pittway by
Honewell and HSM by Stanley Works. He was also involved in 58
follow-on stock offerings (such as Sensormatic Electronics and InVision
Systems), and 29 IPO’s, the most recent of which was sensor technology
company ICX Technologies. He has carved out a unique role in
the industry by being able to easily move between the worlds of
physical security and IT/physical security convergence, as the current
public company coverage list (click here) shows.
Testimonials
"Jeff
has been the dean and virtual inventor of Wall Street analysis on the
security industry over the past 20 years. His knowledge of
the industry's evolution and understanding of directional trends has
been proven out time and again." - Michael Dan,
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, The Brinks Company
“After more
than 20 years investigating and analyzing the security it is no
surprise that Jeff Kessler’s reports and guidance is head and shoulders
above any other analyst in the industry. You can’t do business in the
security industry without understanding the financial drivers shaping
it, and time again, Jeff Kessler has proven he is the #1 place to get
that knowledge.” -
Sandra Jones, President & CEO, Sandra Jones & Co.
(leading industry consulting group)
“I’ve worked with Jeff
since our
launch into the advanced
IP-based physical security space more than five years ago. I
have always
found him to be highly knowledgeable about how our technology works,
and he has
been a leading voice in predicting and explaining emerging trends in
our
industry, particularly with respect to the convergence of physical and
logical
security for larger companies looking for such combined security
solutions.” - Eli
Gorovici, President and CEO, DVTel, Inc
“Jeff Kessler sees the
trends in the security industry before other analysts. If
there is something going on in this industry; Kessler has his finger on
it. Kessler uses his keen understanding of the security
industry and his tenacious style to help investors understand the
industry’s key metrics. His Security Annual is a MUST have
for any executive or investor in the security space.” - Richard Ginsburg,
President and CEO, Protection One, Inc
“I
will miss our opportunities to work together. We developed something
quite unique on Wall Street, an internal partnership that provided real
value to the firm.” - Kenneth Damstrom,
Managing Director, Global Head of Security Operations, Lehman Brothers
“Jeff
Kessler has forgotten more about security technology and services than
all the other analysts covering the space combined have ever
learned. He is THE resource in an important, but
under-covered sector and “The Annual” is must reading. It is
frankly embarrassing – I repeat, embarrassing – that Jeff knows far
more about Tyco’s absolutely critical ADT division and key personnel
than any of the multi-industry analysts dedicated to covering Tyco,
even those with so-called ‘I.I. poll’ credentials.” - Name Withheld,
Portfolio Manager of a large Boston-based fund
"Jeff
Kessler is a visionary in the security field and one of the few
people I consider an industry leader. His detailed knowledge of the
current security industry landscape is unmatched, and his understanding
of the evolving trends is perhaps even more impressive. Jeff not only
possesses detailed product and company strategy understanding, but has
in depth personal relationships with key industry individuals.”
- Dan Dunkel, President, New Era Associates
"The
identification and biometric market space has evolved from a fragmented
group of small entrepreneurial companies to concentrated leadership as
technology, program initiatives, and program funding has matured.
Jeff Kessler's expertise is indispensable in our drive to understand
both the opportunities and the complexities encompassing the array of
programs and corporations competing in today’s security identification
market.” - Keith G. LaRose, Principal, Bradley, Foster & Sargent Investors
